Help with connecting your device, transferring files and using NativeMTP on macOS.

Device not appearing?

Make sure the device is connected directly when possible and is unlocked. Android devices normally need USB Preferences set to File Transfer / Android Auto (MTP).

NativeMTP cannot access the device

Only one application may be able to use some MTP/PTP devices at a time. Quit applications such as Preview, Photos, Image Capture, Android File Transfer, OpenMTP or other camera/MTP applications, reconnect the device, and refresh NativeMTP.

Local folder access

The Mac App Store version uses the macOS App Sandbox. Choose a local folder when prompted to authorize NativeMTP to browse and transfer files in that location.

Diagnostics

If a problem persists, enable Diagnostics Logging in NativeMTP's Advanced settings, reproduce the issue, and export the diagnostics file.

Review exported diagnostics before sharing them.
