NativeMTP is designed to perform file-management operations locally between your Mac and devices you connect to it.

Data collection

NativeMTP does not collect personal data, does not use advertising trackers, and does not include app analytics or telemetry.

Files and connected devices

NativeMTP accesses local files and folders that you authorize and files stored on connected MTP/PTP devices in order to perform actions you request, including browsing, transferring, previewing, renaming and deleting files.

File contents are not uploaded by NativeMTP to an external service.

Local folder access

The Mac App Store version of NativeMTP runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. Access to locations outside its default permitted folders requires you to select a folder using the macOS folder picker.

NativeMTP may store security-scoped bookmarks on your Mac so that folders you authorize can remain accessible across app launches.

Diagnostics

NativeMTP can create diagnostic information locally on your Mac when diagnostics are enabled. Diagnostics are designed to record operational status and counts rather than personal filenames or paths.

Exporting or sharing diagnostic information is under your control. Because some operating-system and third-party library error messages may contain additional details, you should review exported diagnostics before sharing them.

Network communication

NativeMTP does not use network communication for app analytics, tracking or telemetry.

Third-party software

NativeMTP includes open-source components used for communication with MTP/PTP devices. Applicable license information is distributed with the application.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if NativeMTP's features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
